Good and Loving God, Our Father,
Thank you for the gift of adoption.
From what is often a painful situation,
You bring forth blessings and glory,
Allowing those involved
To witness in an act of selfless love.
Bless this day all birth parents
Who have ever placed a child for adoption,
All adoptive parents
Who have taken in a child born to another
And loved them as their own flesh and blood,
And all those who were adopted
And seek to understand the intense love
From where their adoption story began.
Bless foster parents who temporarily serve
As the primary, full-time parents of children in need,
And bless children in the foster care system
Who wait to be reunited with their birth family.
Give all of those touched by adoption
The strength to say "yes" to whatever You ask of us
And may our witness to the miracle of adoption
Give You glory.
