Meeting Opening Prayer

Dear Lord,

Today, we want to thank you for the opportunity to unite together with the members of Sarah’s Hope & Abraham’s Promise as we carry this difficult cross. We thank you for the unlimited possibilities You can bring to our lives and we thank you for the infinite love You have for each and every one of us.

We now ask that You be near us. Please comfort us. Please bring us hope. We ask that You give us strength to persevere in our faithfulness to You month after month. We ask that You help us to understand Your Holy Will, knowing that whatever cross You allow for us, ultimately will bring us closer to You. We ask that in these sufferings, we can be as gracious as You and accept them joyfully, knowing our pain has the power to lessen the pain of another. And we ask that we have the patience to allow this time of suffering to transform us, our lives, and our marriages into the persons and relationship you have planned for us.

Please, Lord, further hear our requests and heal us:

Heal our minds that we may trust in the promise of the ecstatic joy You have planned for us. Help focus our minds so that we may appropriately discern what treatments are best, not only for us, but for our future children and for the sanctity of our marriage vows.

Heal our will, Lord, that our will be perfectly united with Yours, so that we may be healed of our anger, our envy, our despair, our fear, our guilt, our shame, and our need to control. In surrendering to Your will, help us to forgive as You have done. We plead that we have the courage to forgive ourselves, our spouses, our friends, our family and most of all, You, most loving of Fathers.

Heal our bodies, Lord, that they may be fruitful and that they may be used to fully unite with our spouses and thus bring life into our marriage. We ask that You take away any disease within our body so that we may be a perfect vessel for carrying life.

And finally, Lord, fill us with your spirit, that we and our marriage may shine with Your radiance and ultimately find Peace.

We thank You again, for the blessings we have been given. In Jesus’ name.

Amen.
