Welcome Gianelle!

Gianelle was born on Feb. 18, 2020 to Valerie and Daniel Soto.

Valerie says, “Our story begins as follows. We’ve been married for 15 years, going on 16 this year, and out of those we had been trying to conceive for half. We went to many fertility specialists both here and in Mexico, and we tried holistic and nothing. Every specialist we went to always told us the same thing: that we had a 1 percent chance of conceiving due to my weight. After hearing such disappointing news I was starting to lose faith and hope.

My husband is who kept me going and who gave me the strength to keep believing, even if a little.

Well in February 2019 my mother called to let me know she’d be hosting the Virgen of Fatima at her house for a rosary. As I hung up the phone I was complaining to my husband about not wanting to go as I didn’t believe in praying the rosary. Well on Feb. 9, 2019 I wake up and was still complaining about having to go. We get to my mother’s house, and as I’m sitting there I’m thinking, ‘What am I doing here if I don’t believe in any of this?’ They started telling a story about a mother who prayed for her daughter as she, too, struggled to conceive and by the grace of God, she was able to.

As I heard the story it had to have been God letting me know to not give up, and that’s when I realized I was meant to be there. After hearing the story of the Virgen of Fatima, I made my intention. A month or so later, we met a doctor who specializes in fertility and was willing to help us.

Fast forward to July 4, 2019, we found out we were pregnant. Yes, five months later! How incredible is God?! Our little miracle was born Feb. 18, 2020, and we have been so blessed and lucky to be her parents. I still continue to pray the rosary as I want my daughter and future children to have faith and believe. It’s true what people say — faith moves mountains. We will forever be grateful for our daughter.”

Welcome Ezra!

Miracle baby! Ezra Alexander was born Oct. 13, 2020 at 8 pounds, 7 oz. and 21 inches long. We brought him home Jan. 31, 2021. Although we had been waiting with an agency for 14 months, a friend of a friend knew we wanted to adopt and knew someone considering placing their child for adoption. The parents were young and not in a place to be able to care for their baby, so they were looking for a loving home for their son. After looking at our profile and then meeting us in person, they decided we were the right parents for their child.

Josie Joined Our Family after 4 Years of Infertility

Josie  has joined our family after 4 years of infertility.  We had gone through several treatments, lots of testing/charting, and one NaPro surgery. We never have received a clear reason for our difficulties conceiving. Fostering or adoption was always part of our plan for our family, but we began to consider infant adoption last spring.  We applied to adopt at Thanksgiving, did our homestudy right before NYE, and were matched on Epiphany (1/6), so the actual process of waiting for our adoption was very quick for us.
Josephine was born 2/15/2020 at 8:02 AM and was 5 lb 1 oz and 18.5″ long. We were present for her birth and hope to grow a great relationship with her first family (please pray for them). She has been a joy and we feel so blessed to raise her, even though we feel wildly unprepared for this several times a day.

Welcome Thomas!

We are honored to welcome Thomas to the Heummer family! Thomas is a darling who loves to stare deeply into your eyes and sleeps like a champ (unlike his sister and brother before him!)
Thomas was adopted in February 2020, fewer than 72 hours after they first received their “will you consider” from their adoption agency, Catholic Charities Dallas. The Huemmers had been waiting for almost a year and were recently recovering from being matched with a birthmother who had decided to parent instead. Thomas is the Huemmers’ third adopted baby and ushers the family into new statuses of “3 under 4”, “zone coverage parenting”, and “minivan upgraded”.
The Huemmers began their adoption journey 7 years ago when they received an infertility diagnosis. Their adoption journey has strengthened their vocation of marriage and their faith in God, who in His mercy has supplanted their desires with even bigger blessings than they could have conceived (pun intended :).

Stella Maris-Our Adoption Miracle

Chad and I have been married almost eleven years. My son was 18 months old when we met, and chad never hesitated to step into his role as a father. We have struggled with infertilIty and loss. On our seventh year anniversary we could no longer ignore Gods call to adoption. To celebrate our love we attended an orientation at Gladney and left with happy tears. Two years later our little star was born. Stella Maris was named after our Lady. Stella extended our family by more than one as we have continued a relationship with her birth angel. We never knew how much a miracle we would be a part of. The moment she was born and placed into our arms, we knew she was made for us and a part of Gods plan always. We continue to pray and hope for another sweet baby and we pray for you also.

Baby Jacob Michael

After nearly two years of struggling with infertility, including 8 months of using NaProTechnology with Dr. Kalamarides at Vitae Clinic, we welcomed our first child into the world in July of this year. Jacob Michael Zamora was born on July 1, 2018 at 8 lbs and 19.5 inches long. At just about 6 months old, Jacob is a mover and a shaker with quite the little personality. We are so blessed by him and the support around us.

Our Little Miracles Prayer

Good and Loving God,
We give You thanks for the many blessings You’ve granted us this year,
But especially for the Little Miracles we now call our children.
We praise You for hearing our pleas for the rich blessing of children
And for blessing us through the paths of conception and adoption.
We thank You for increasing our faith in You during our time of waiting,
And we ask that You would continue to be close to us as we navigate the journey of parenthood.
Grant us the gifts we need to be good stewards of these children of Yours,
And help us to instill within them a deep longing for You.
May every purpose You have for their lives be fulfilled,
And may You grant them every grace they need to become the saints
You’ve called them to become.
We ask that You would bless our marriages
And continue to strengthen our relationships with our spouses
As we journey together as parents.
If it would be Your will that we continue to build our families,
We ask for Your wisdom and discernment in surrendering to the path You have chosen for us.
We pray for all those couples longing for children
And ask that, in your mercy, You would hear and answer their prayers,
Blessing them with Little Miracles of their own.
Thank you for the ministry of Sarah’s Hope & Abraham’s Promise.
May it glorify You in serving those who are hurting.
We ask these things through Christ, Our Lord,
Amen.
